Layers.

Layers are a great way to add texture, pattern or a pop of color. Denim, sweater, leather are all great textures to add to your look. Plus if you’re anything like me and don’t know what to do with your hands this can add some options for you!

Patterns.

You do not need to be afraid of patterns just mindful. Polkadots, florals and plaids photograph well, but just not in the same session..Ha!

One pattern for a couples session & 2-3 patterns for a family session as long as they work together is a good rule of thumb.

Colors.

Natural earth tones are a great starting point! Add in jewel tones for a pop and add some dimension. Earthy tones are always a classic look that will allow you to love your photos for years to come.

My goal is to capture who you are in this moment of time and not just the latest fashion trend.

Bright Colors.

They can pop and photograph well, but they can also steal the show if you’re not careful.

Bright colors tend to reflect onto your skin changing the hue and glow of your natural look.

Colors like red or neons can draw your eye directly to that article of clothing instead of seeing the beauty in the image.

Coordinating Colors.

We want to coordinate colors not match them. Matchy-matchy is old and dated and your session will look dated much sooner than you think.

Choosing a color palate, such as earth or jewel tones and coordinating colors that compliment and go together will give your session a timeless look.

Once you have your color palate then you can add in solids, patterns and textures to build and complete your look.

Below are some more examples to inspire you!

Still unsure of what to wear?

I would love to see what your options are and help you narrow down a look that you are happy and confident about!
